Don M. Coleman is Professor Emeritus of Systems and Computer Science at Howard University. He has served previously at Howard as the interim Vice President for Research and Compliance, as a senior associate provost and during the academic year 2000-01 he was Interim Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Coleman has been affiliated with Howard for more than 36 years as a faculty member, administrator, and researcher. In the late 90’s during his tenure in the Office of the Provost he led the development of information technology initiatives related to faculty database systems, distance learning, and online degree and certificate programs. Prior to his appointment as associate provost, Dr. Coleman served as professor and chair of the Systems and Computer Sciences Department in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Computer Sciences. Professor Coleman has worked in developing countries since 1974. His technical areas include information technology planning and development, health information systems planning, engineering curriculum development, and faculty capacity building. Dr. Coleman’s international experience includes consultations in at least 12 countries.
